The National Vacation Job Program needs your help as a volunteer in Liberia along with its sister project, National Youth Camps.  They start July 15, 2012 and run 4 weeks (job) and yearlong (camps).  Camp youth leaders, adult leaders, basic literacy and numeracy teachers, counselors, and film, girls in radio, health, leadership, Liberian history and culture, music, peace education, photography and work skills (ethics, initiative and motivation, etc.) theme camp facilitators are needed.  You must be a U.S. or Liberian citizen, 15 years or older.  For more information contact me at sandralross@netzero.net.

Above, I (2nd from the left) met recently in Monrovia, Liberia with the Honorable Minister Mr. S. Tornorlah Varpilah, Republic of Liberia, Ministry of Youth and Sports (center, 3rd from left); Deputy Minister Mr. Dionysius Sebwe (1st on left); and my NGO program coordinator Mr. Sanni Jajah of Ghana (4th from the left) and my in-country consult partner Madam Hajia Naphisa Brahim. As the MoYS consultant, I am putting together these two programs for implementation as 1-year pilots with capacity building for sustainability 5-year work plans, 2012-2018.

The Roberts International Airport is about 45 minute drive from Monrovia in the areas of Paynesville where I stayed at the Golden Gate Hotel, which is next door to the Samuel K. Doe Sports Complex which houses the Ministry of Youth and Sports.  Below are some more pictures at the airport.

Below here I am outside the MoYS and the Doe Sports Complex, Paynesville, Monrovia, Liberia, with my NGO Program Coordinator Mr. Sanni Jajah.
